With similar personalities, philosophies, and goals for racing, Mike Romine and Joe Timmons have decided to combine their efforts to create a strong, two-bike Top Fuel Harley race team for 2005. New leathers and uniforms have been ordered, new bikes are being built, and plans are being made. The bikes will be high gear and built around Weekend Frames chassis to take advantage of the latest information and technology.
'This is a great opportunity for us to take our racing program to the next level. A two-bike team with all the latest and greatest technology on board should make for a fun and very competitive season', said Timmons.
With both Romine and Timmons finishing in the top 10 of the AHDRA 2004 points (#2 and #7 respectively), both men bring success to the table. Also, Mike Romine made the quickest pass ever on a Nitro Harley in 2004 (6.260 e.t. @ 221.23 m.p.h.). An excited Mike Romine stated, 'Joe and I are both very motivated to do whatever is necessary to insure that this team has what it needs to succeed. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a long and happy relationship.'
Both Romine and Timmons will be racing expanded schedules with the first meeting planned for the AHDRA race in Gainesville, Florida.
