Western Swing Brings Limited Success
Pomona-Good, Las Vegas-Not So Good
AHDRA's season-ending western swing brought both happiness and disappointment to the Romine Racing team. The first ever visit to the legendary Pomona strip brought a runner-up finish, which left the team excited and anxious to get to Las Vegas, a track where Mike has traditionally done very well. After the win in Rockingham, the Pomona runner-up told Mike and the team that they were on the right track. However, some adjustments disrailed the anticipated great season finish and the team had to settle for a 5th place finish in the season points.

'We thought we were in good shape after Pomona, but had some clutch plate problems in Vegas and just couldn't get it sorted out. Very disappointing, but I know what I have to work on for next season,' Mike noted. 'We just had an off year. It happens to everybody. However, we ARE very happy to announce our continued partnership with Joe Timmons and the Harley-Davidson of Salt Lake City race team. That was a bright spot of our western trip.'

With their sights set on the 2008 season, Romine Racing/Team RT heads back to the shop to concentrate on working out all those little bugs.

Romine Racing is sponsored by Harley-Davidson of Salt Lake City, Chromatic, Romine Cams & Engines, Performance Machine, Ross Pistons, and Autolite.
